In most jurisdictions, architects must earn continuing education (CE) to renew their license. With NCARB’s exclusive Continuing Education Program, you can easily earn the learning unit (LU) credits you need to update your professional skills and maintain your license. By completing our online courses and accompanying quizzes, you can earn LUs in health, safety, and welfare (HSW) from the comfort of your home, office, or on-the-go.
Continue developing your professional skills by completing self-study courses on topics like sustainable design, professional conduct, historic preservation, and building performance. Every continuing education course includes a quiz, offering up to 3.25 HSW LUs. NCARB is a registered provider of AIA-approved continuing education.
All CE courses are free for NCARB Certificate holders and cost $25 per course for non-Certificate holders.
To help licensing boards, architects, and CE providers better understand what qualifies as HSW, NCARB developed the Continuing Education Guidelines. This document outlines the subjects or topics that learning programs must address to be considered HSW CE.
