NCARB offers several resources for educators hoping to foster their students’ interest in architecture—whether you’re a Professional Practice professor, high school guidance counselor, or the dean of your school’s architecture program.
ProPEL
NCARB and the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture (ACSA) have created the Professional Practice Education Library (ProPEL), a library of video lessons for faculty and students to access digital learning materials related to professional practice. ProPEL helps better equip students for the future of architectural practice.
NCARB Scholars
Our NCARB Scholars in Professional Practice program gives professional practice professors the opportunity to enhance the delivery of their courses through expert training, collaboration, and discussion. NCARB Scholars is an annual, three-day intensive training event where attendees focus on maximizing student learning by sharing best practices, learning from experts in both architectural practice and teaching, and engaging in peer-to-peer coaching.
IPAL
NCARB’s Integrated Path to Architectural Licensure (IPAL) offers an additional, accelerated pathway to licensure for motivated students seeking to become architects. By offering an IPAL option, students in the process of earning a degree from a NAAB-accredited program at your institution can complete the Architectural Experience Program® (AXP®) and the Architect Registration Examination® (ARE®) concurrently. Learn more about the program requirements for IPAL educators.
Licensing Advisors
All schools that offer a NAAB-accredited architecture degree must appoint an architect licensing advisor for their program. Regardless of whether your institution includes a NAAB degree, licensing advisors can help students meet their goals and provide mentorship along the path to licensure. If you’re interested in becoming a licensing advisor or appointing a faculty member, learn more.
