Navigating the requirements for architecture licensure can seem complicated—but NCARB is here to help. Our team of staff experts regularly engages in virtual and in-person presentations to architecture programs, firms, professional organizations, and conferences to share information about the path to licensure and certification.

During these sessions, we share key knowledge and resources to ensure that students, licensure candidates, and architects are equipped with the knowledge and resources they need to make informed decisions at every career stage.

Each outreach presentation is tailored to the audience’s interests and needs, aligning with their career stage and touching on topics specific to them, including:

  • A basic overview of the path to becoming an architect—ideal for high school and early college students
  • An in-depth exploration of the Architectural Experience Program® (AXP®) and Architect Registration Examination® (ARE®)—ideal for individuals who are actively working toward becoming an architect (typically worth 1-1.5 learning units)
  • An overview of NCARB’s resources for practicing architects and the steps to become an NCARB Certificate holder, including pathways available for individuals with non-traditional career paths—ideal for architects and foreign architects
