Editor's note: This page has been updated to reflect the new launch timeline for online proctoring. The new expected launch date for both online proctoring and the anticipated changes to the exam is December 14, 2020. Once implemented, all exam changes will apply to both in-person and online exam appointments—including those scheduled to take place on December 14, 2020.
Anticipated December 14, candidates will have the option to take the ARE via online proctoring or at a physical test center. To make this possible, we’re updating the exam’s navigation, timing, and policies so candidates testing at home have the same experience as those testing at a Prometric center. Watch a recording of our live webinar, where candidates asked questions about the exam changes.
Watch as NCARB’s Vice President of Examination Jared Zurn, AIA, NCARB; Assistant Vice President of Examination Michelle Cohn, AIA, NCARB; Examination Committee Chair Neitha Wilkey, RA; and Examination Committee Member Wayne Hilbert, AIA, NCARB; share an interactive webinar answering candidate questions about online proctoring.
During the webinar, we covered: how online proctoring works, changes to the exam’s navigation, changes to ARE policy, updated exam resources (including the ARE 5.0 Guidelines and ARE 5.0 Handbook), tips for setting up your online testing space, and when to expect more information about the transition from Prometric to PSI.
