Maurice joined NCARB in 2015 as Manager of Council Relations working with boards to increase program adoption and access to Council services. Promoted to Assistant Vice President of Advocacy and External Engagement in 2021, Maurice advocates on behalf of, and in collaboration with, NCARB boards for the reasonable regulation of the profession and protection of the public. He helps shape the legislative outlook, advocacy strategy, and external partnerships. Prior to joining NCARB, Maurice worked for the American Educational Research Association (AERA), providing operational and research support to professional development and funding of initiatives. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in sociology from the State University of New York at Binghamton and a Master of Arts in applied sociology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. In 2023, Maurice was awarded NCARB’s highest honor, the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service, in recognition of his service to the organization.
