Miguel Rodriguez, FAIA, NCARB, NOMA, of Coral Gables, Florida, is a broadly experienced architect with over 40 years in the profession and licensed in several states. He is the founding principal of Rodriguez Architects, Inc., a 10-person firm established in 1990 and located in Coral Gables.
Rodriguez is a member of the Florida Board of Architecture and Interior Design, which he was first appointed to in 2002. During his tenure, he has served two terms as the board’s chair, as well as on several of the board’s committees. In 2017, Rodriguez was elected by his peers to serve as the secretary of Region 3, going on to serve terms as the region’s treasurer, vice chair, and chair, before being elected as the regional director. He previously served as Region 3’s secretary and treasurer from 2003-05. In 2024, Rodriguez was re-elected to the NCARB Board of Directors as the Region 3 director.
Rodriguez served as a director on the NAAB board of directors from 2010-13, and has served in AIA leadership at the local, state, regional, and national levels. In 2010 he was elevated to the AIA College of Fellows in recognition of his service to the profession. In 2018, NCARB’s then- President Gregory L. Erny, FAIA, NCARB, Hon. FCARM, awarded Rodriguez with the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service. Rodriguez graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Architecture degree. He is an active NCARB Certificate holder and is licensed to practice architecture in Florida, Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina.
